Whisper of the Heart -- Country Roads [Japanese Full Version]

What: Song
Movie: Whisper of the Heart
By: Studio Ghibli -- Hayao Miyazaki
Genre: Anime
Type: Slice of life, comedy, romance, first love
Based on the Japanese manga by Aoi Hiiragi

I've recently watched a very dear and great anime movie after many years since I first saw it, and I noticed for the first time the powerful song that ties together the story (it is a song that plays as the movie starts, and ends. It also plays in one of the important scenes in the movie). I watched the original dub version in english, but the end of the movie kept the japanese version of the song. After listening to it I felt so inspired and happy that I looked it up on Youtube to find the original, full japanese version of the song. I found it, and I've been listening to it many times over. You have to watch the movie either in dubs/subs before you can fully understand the story behind the song, but if anyone knows of a singer named 'John Denver', he is the original person that wrote this song from America. The reason his song is in a japanese movie is because he went over to Japan for some time during his singing career and sang this song back during the times of WWII or just after it I believe. It was sucha heart-warming and moving song that reached out to many people, that it became a sort of 'american' hit in Japan, which led to people using it in movies such as the anime, Whisper of the Heart.

The video itself is matching clips from the real movie to the voices of the song file, but that isn't the real song that was played during the movie. If you want to see where that scene comes from, you can watch it here in english (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpJ_SFm3UbY), or here in japanese with english subs (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E_rlJbwsbs4). The original song by John Denver you can listen to here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oN86d0CdgHQ&feature=related), there was a better video with John Denver actually singing in it that had around 5 million views, but Youtube pulled the music off and forced it to be replaced with another song. It may be hard to understand it all if you've not watched the movie, or if you haven't heard of this song before. Still, it's very beautiful and ... reminds me that life in itself is an adventure of sorts, and that there are good things in this world worth living for. Enjoy! ^.^b

xD Yeah! Actually, a lot of people from my RL work, and my friends who go traveling -- they say that of all the places in Canada....Montreal (in Quebec I think) is one of the most stunning places to visit, and to live, and to go to school.

They tell me the french culture is very european there, there history, beautiful art, very nice sunny days, many shops where you can just grab a table outside and talk with friends, the streets are even made with cobbled stones from back in the medieval days (compared to here in my city where it's modern-day asphault), and generally have a very nice time just walking down many streets in Montreal.

Indeed, that too is a place people tell me I need to visit a lot. (I am pretty sure Montreal is in Quebec. Or were you talking about moving to Quebec City?)

xD This is so offtopic from the video. =D
