A new map by Crashday!

Today I finished my new map called ts_vulcano
I think this is my best map up to now. I added some effects as well as cool textures! I think I also improved my overhead-map-file-making skills. Pls leave comments and say what you think of my work!

Effects are cool and it is an awesome map, but i don't know how the tactical/exploiting issues are before i have played the map, any good place for a shield?

Hmmm. I'm not an expert in maps, but the screenshots look amazing Smile

And sorry for not answering, I was out.


Let me get this right :

1) Top mines are Stronghold-Lair. Both divided by a huge wall. Right ?
2) How to get to the middle mines ?
3) Is that bridge in the right side of the map a grimm or just a bridge like the one you seen in your 2nd screenshot ?

1) There is one mine near stronghold/lair and one on the top of the vulcano for each team seperated by a grimm wall.

2) The beasts get up with ladders.
The humans get up at a huge ramp

3) This bridge is just a bridge, no walls etc.

yesterday i tried my map on the th server and there were strange things which i cant explain. E.g.: after walking about 10 metres i stuck in the floor, or if i move close to an edge i stuck in it! when i tested it by pressing "host game" there werent those bugs. Can anyone explain me what i did wrong?

What you "did wrong" is fail to read my tutorial.... Mad which if you had read tells you within the first 3 pages that any map size other than 64 x 64 and 96 x 96 are bugged and will not work properly. Now you know how they are bugged Sad

Solution? There really isn't any, you have to start over on a 64 x 64 or 96 x 96. This time, read my tutorial first Exclamation

to 64x64 converter?

Crash, Nota made a resizer some time ago. Not sure how reliable it is as I have never used it. It is in the Newerth downloads section if you want to give it a shot. However obviously that is going to make your actual map much larger which will increase the playing size and change the dynamics of the game. Not something you necessarily want done.

Edit: Just had a look and it is no longer in the downloads section of Newerth. Asking around to see if anyone still has a copy of it.

Ok, cos there are so much fans of my map I will temake it soon!
The overhead file is made with gimp.
And scav i think you mean if i will upooad it to hcs. I don't know hcs's server administrator, so i don't know who to speak with. But i'll do my best!
